1、 Types of thermal oil

Thermal oil can be divided into various types according to different chemical structures and usage conditions. The common types of thermal oil include the following four:

1. Phenyl thermal oil

Phenyl thermal oil is a transparent colorless liquid with excellent thermal conductivity and high thermal stability, capable of stable operation in high temperature and low pressure environments. However, due to the flammability and toxicity of phenyl thermal oil to the human body, special attention should be paid to safety during use.

2. Diphenylethane thermal oil

Diphenylethane thermal oil is also a colorless and transparent liquid, which can have good thermal conductivity and oxidation resistance in high temperature environments. Compared to phenyl heat transfer oil, diphenylethane heat transfer oil has a higher ignition point, which can improve safety during use.

3. Polysiloxane thermal oil

Polysiloxane thermal oil is a completely inorganic compound with excellent oxidation and thermal stability, capable of stable operation at high temperatures and pressures. Meanwhile, the toxicity of polysiloxane thermal oil is very low, making it easy and safe to use.

4. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon thermal oil

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon thermal oil can maintain good lubricity and flowability at high temperatures, and has good processing stability and high-temperature oxidation resistance. However, the price of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon thermal oil is relatively high, and cost considerations need to be taken into account when using it.

2、 Performance characteristics of thermal oil

Different types of heat transfer oils have different performance characteristics. The following lists the common performance characteristics of heat transfer oils:

1. Phenyl thermal oil: Good thermal conductivity, thermal stability, flammability, and toxicity;

2. Diphenylethane thermal oil: Good thermal conductivity, thermal stability, non flammability, and high cost;

3. Polysiloxane thermal oil: low toxicity, safe use, good thermal stability, and good oxidation stability;

4. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon thermal oil: good processing stability, good high-temperature antioxidant performance, and relatively high price.
