Storage method of thermal oil
Added:2023-07-24     Views:

Barrel heat transfer oil should be stored in the warehouse to avoid being affected by climate, and oil drums should be placed horizontally.

When placing the bucket straight, it is advisable to tilt it slightly to prevent rainwater from accumulating on the surface of the bucket and covering the lid. In addition, oil drums should be regularly checked for leaks and the markings on the drum surface should be checked for clarity. Oil extraction method: The oil drum should be placed on a wooden frame at an appropriate height, and a faucet should be used to drain the oil from the lid of the drum. A container should be placed under the faucet to prevent splashing; Alternatively, place the bucket straight and use a hand pump to insert the oil pipe from the lid to extract oil. It is not advisable to store thermal oil in excessively hot or cold places for a long time. The basic two points for storing thermal oil are: first, there should not be any quality changes that affect its performance or fail to meet technical specifications during storage; second, it should be easy to transport and not affect the normal production and shipping due to difficulty in transportation.

1、 Storage temperature:

The storage temperature of thermal oil has a dual impact. Generally, at room temperature, thermal oil can be stored for more than 10 years without any changes. However, at high temperatures, the heat transfer oil is prone to oxidation, and high-temperature storage accelerates the oxidation process of the heat transfer oil. However, the viscosity of the oil is relatively low and it has good transport performance. On the contrary, low-temperature storage is beneficial for stabilizing the quality of heat transfer oil, but its high viscosity poses difficulties for transportation. According to practical experience, the storage temperature of thermal oil should not exceed 50 ℃.

2、 Pollution during storage:

The pollution referred to here includes: water, dust, light, the infiltration of other oil products, certain metals, etc. These pollutants can all lead to the deterioration of oil products. Therefore, efforts should be made to prevent the generation of these pollutants during storage. The main measures include:

① The packaging barrel of thermal oil should have good sealing performance, dust prevention, and light avoidance;

② Use iron (steel) containers for storage, avoiding contact with metals such as copper and brass, which have stronger catalytic oxidation properties than iron;

③ Strengthen management to prevent oil and water leakage, and prevent heater leakage;

④ When necessary, nitrogen protection measures should be added for storage and irrigation to isolate heat transfer oil from oxygen, air, and livestock.
