Diphenyl ether has the aroma of fragrant leaves and crabapple, as well as the notes of sweet orange and narcissus. In the spice industry, it is called crystalline fragrant leaf oil or artificial fragrant leaf oil. Because diphenyl ether is relatively stable to alkalinity, it is mostly used to prepare soap essence, and it is also commonly used as a substitute for scented leaf oil, which is suitable for preparing floral cosmetics, deodorants, etc. This product is used as an organic synthesis intermediate in the spice industry, synthetic resins, and other organic synthesis production.

Diphenyl ether can also be used in daily chemical essence formula and artificial fragrance oil in daily life.
